An adult Sunday School Class is the one organization in the church that is inclusive of all the other ministries of our church: worship, witness, outreach, and service. As a member of a class, you have many opportunities to serve God such as loving and caring for one?s neighbors by sponsoring a needy family at Christmas, feeding the homeless, sponsoring a child at Camp Viola, or volunteering time as a class to serve a community agency. Your Sunday School class is your extended family who perhaps rejoices with you in the birth of a baby or a job promotion or gives you valuable support in time of need. Regular Sunday School attendance is a way to feel a part of the church.
We encourage you to take your time and visit several Sunday School classes so that you can find just the right class that best suits your needs. Following is a list of our Adult Sunday School Classes and a brief description of each:
Adult Fellowship: Couples and singles in their 50?s plus. This class uses the ?Adult Bible Studies? curriculum material with lecture and discussion format. This class meets in Room B-8 in the Sanctuary Building basement.
Builders: Adults in their 40?s and up. The class uses widely varied subject material?from Bible Study to community and international social concerns, using many different teachers and eliciting broad participation in class discussion. Fellowship abounds! This class meets in Room B-14 in the Sanctuary Building basement.
Circle of Friends: Couples and Singles of all ages with a focus on developing their own spiritual journey. This class uses a lecture and discussion format. They meet on the 2nd floor of the Ministries Building.
Epiphany: Young couples and singles in 20?s and 30?s. This class is led by a teaching team that uses lecture and open discussion. They meet in Room B-11 in the Sanctuary Building basement.
Genesis: Couples in their 30?s and 40?s. The class has a rotation of teachers who teach using a variety of curriculum materials while using a lecture and discussion format. They are a very social oriented class. This class meets on the 1st floor of the Ministries Building.
Maranatha: Couples and singles in the 40?s, 50?s and 60?s. The class uses a variety of curriculum material with a teaching team with a lecture and discussion format. They have monthly socials for fellowship and are a very mission oriented group. This class meets in Room B-5 in the Sanctuary Building basement.
Mary Will Thompson/Verdie Miller: A ladies class in their 50?s and up. The class uses the ?Adult Bible Studies? curriculum material and has a rotation of teachers. The teaching style is mostly lecture. This class meets on the 1st floor of the Ministries Building.
Men?s Bible Class: Men in their 40?s and up. This class uses the ?Adult Bible Studies? curriculum material and has a rotation of teachers. The teaching style is mostly lecture. This class meets in Room B-4 in the Sanctuary Building basement.
Moorhead Friendship: Couples and singles in their 60?s and up. This class uses the ?Adult Bible Studies? curriculum with one teacher. He uses a lecture format with some discussion. This class meets in Room B-10 in the Sanctuary Building basement.
Pairs & Spares: Couples and singles in their 50?s 7 up. The class uses the ?Adult Bible Study? curriculum and has teacher-led discussions. The class has get-togethers every other month for fellowship as well as support groups for special needs. This class meets on the 1st floor of the Ministries Building.
Seekers: Couples and singles in their 30?s, 40?s & 50?s. This class has a teaching team with a variety of curriculum. The format is mostly discussion with some lecture. This class meets on the 1st floor of the Ministries Building.
