First United Methodist Church assists and sponsors, both in gifts and personnel, an active chapter of this national organization. Numerous homes have been built within the area with much on-going work still being accomplished with help of many of our church members.

Volunteers from First Methodist helped construct a house in 2003.

During the Jimmy Carter Work Project in 2003, First United Methodist Church sponsored one of the 22 houses that was built during the week of June 7 - 13.
